By the way, I also have <strong>not tested positive for COVID-19<\/strong>, and I&#8217;m keeping my travels and physical interactions with others done to a bare minimum. So, by all accounts, I&#8217;m a pretty healthy person currently. But what could I do to make sure I can stay healthy for the coming decade, or for as long as I will live?<\/p>\n\n\n<style id=\"kb-spacer_1f38b9-da\">.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-_1f38b9-da .kt-divider{width:80%;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-_1f38b9-da\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\" style=\"height:60px\"><hr class=\"kt-divider\" style=\"border-top-color:rgba(238, 238, 238, 1);border-top-width:1px;width:80%;border-top-style:solid\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Longevity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">I heard for years that elderly people can develop many diseases as they get older that can complicate their ways of living. They are all humans who age the same rate, and yet they can have vastly different ages when they pass away, usually depending on their lifestyles, or maybe on the environments they live in, too. Around the world, there are areas named &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/bluezones.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Blue Zones<\/a>&#8220;, in which senior citizens are thriving in health even up to age 100 or older; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/reel\/video\/p07xdbyb\/four-japanese-rules-to-live-past-100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Okinawa, Japan<\/a> is most notable for this &#8211; the senior population there have often included those who set the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_the_verified_oldest_people\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guinness Book of World Records for the oldest man and\/or woman living on Earth<\/a>. So what I&#8217;m interested in doing health-wise is to develop the kind of habits while I&#8217;m still young that could help me reach and maintain a healthy state once I&#8217;m older, like the elders in the blue zones who are in their 100&#8217;s+, instead of other elders who may die in their 70&#8217;s or younger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">While I know that this may be about planning ahead for the next 10 years, what I do for my health in that timeframe will also influence the course of my life for decades to come. If possible, I would like to live long enough to see the dawn of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/22nd_century\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">22nd Century<\/a> (I would be aged 110 by then), and maybe get to meet some of my great-grandchildren along the way, if any are born.<\/p>\n\n\n<style id=\"kb-spacer_9a282b-68\">.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-_9a282b-68 .kt-divider{width:80%;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-_9a282b-68\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\" style=\"height:60px\"><hr class=\"kt-divider\" style=\"border-top-color:rgba(238, 238, 238, 1);border-top-width:1px;width:80%;border-top-style:solid\"\/><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Sickness Prevention<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">So, in the way I choose to live in the coming decade, <strong>I will strive to prevent and\/or delay as many diseases as medically possible for me<\/strong>, including <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/health\/arthritis-prevention\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">arthritis<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/healthy-lifestyle\/adult-health\/in-depth\/cancer-prevention\/art-20044816\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cancer<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/nutrition\/prevent-diabetes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">diabetes<\/a><\/strong>, as well as to keep away from getting <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/health\/hunger-headache-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">headaches<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/10_tips_to_prevent_the_common_cold\/views.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">common cold<\/a><\/strong>, and of course, since it&#8217;s 2020, the dreaded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/prevent-getting-sick\/prevention.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Coronavirus<\/strong><\/a>. The more I&#8217;ve looked into these, the more I&#8217;ve realized these preventative measures all share the same set of 4 habits in common: <strong>diet, exercise, personal activity, and social activity<\/strong>. I intend the 2020s to be a decade of high ambitions, but with those can also come high times of stress and anxiety when things may not go according to plan, which means <strong>I&#8217;d have to find <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/nutrition\/16-ways-relieve-stress-anxiety\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ways to relieve this stress<\/a><\/strong> as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Diet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"733\" src=\"http:\/\/vladimirplantin.com\/wp2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/fruits-and-vegetables-1024x733.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-193\" srcset=\"http:\/\/vladimirplantin.com\/wp2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/fruits-and-vegetables-1024x733.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/vladimirplantin.com\/wp2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/fruits-and-vegetables-300x215.jpg 300w, http:\/\/vladimirplantin.com\/wp2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/fruits-and-vegetables-768x550.jpg 768w, http:\/\/vladimirplantin.com\/wp2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/fruits-and-vegetables-1536x1100.jpg 1536w, http:\/\/vladimirplantin.com\/wp2020\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/fruits-and-vegetables.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>In the next ten years, I plan to have an <strong>increased intake in fruits and vegetables<\/strong> (like the ones you can see above), as well as <strong>whole grains<\/strong>. But there are times when I can be in sedentary positions for about 50-90 minutes (sitting or standing still), and that can trigger muscle tensions in my lower back. I&#8217;ve already been to doctors and physical therapists for their help in treating this; they said the best solution is to <strong>do some exercises to strengthen the muscles<\/strong> in my lower back, allowing them to better resist the pressures and stretches that can be caused by the curve in the spine. We also looked into getting surgery for spine correction, but a doctor told me it was unnecessary since <strong>the curve is mild and stable<\/strong>.
