Going Around The World in Eighty Days

posted in: Uncategorized | 2

To everyone who can see this blog – READ THIS FIRST:

Starting on August 24th, 2019, I decided to develop an itinerary that, in theory, should have myself, and whomever else I bring along, circumnavigate the entire planet Earth within a time span of 80 days, currently scheduled from April 4th through June 22nd, 2025; this is based on the classic novel by Jules Verne titled, “Around the World in Eighty Days”.

What I am about to show you is the best information I currently have, based on the destinations I have the most interest in visiting on this specific trip, and the research I did online in relation to those destinations. Only One-Way flights will be boarded for this itinerary, to go from one location to the next, as listed below. Layovers in-between them may also be taken wherever necessary.

Everything you are about to read, with the exception of the national currencies, is 100% HYPOTHETICAL; based on events that can easily vary, literally ANYTHING about this path can change and adjust at any time, from the specific days or routes to the duration of each destination, to the cost or length of each flight.

However, what I do NOT intend to change about this itinerary are:

  1. That it will circumnavigate the globe (meaning that it will travel once around the world).
  2. That it will have me pay at least 1 visit to every continent on Earth (except Antarctica).
  3. That it will be done within an 80-day timeframe.

What all this said, don’t wait to contact me if you have any questions, comments or concerns. I want to make sure I get your valuable feedback to help make this ambitious journey run as smoothly and successfully as possible, which will happen only if and when we all work together.

Finally, I want to lay out the purpose behind WHY I want to go on such a daring trip – I aim to fulfill my lifelong curiosity about the world as my friends and I discover and explore each nation’s local culture, history, food, natural surroundings, and communities, as well as to share what I find with others (through social media). In doing so, I hope to show and remind people, whether they come along with me or watch my content online, of not only how we can be different, but also, more importantly, how much we all share in common.

Hope to see you soon!

International Locations of all Facebook friends I have or have made from 2010 to 2020; outside the U.S., by current residence (bright teal), former residence (lighter teal), and former friendships (darker teal). I’m currently choosing to restrict myself from traveling to the countries in dark gray, due to local hostility.

In the coming decade, I plan to embark on this and other journeys to these and to other nations, to meet in person with some of my good foreign friends whom I’ve known for many years, and to explore the local cultures, cuisines, and natural wonders that each country has to offer.

Disclaimer Note: This trip was originally scheduled for June 1st – August 19th, 2024, but these dates were shifted ahead to cooler months of the year 2025 on June 22nd 2022, due to concerns about summer heat waves caused by global warming.

Hey Vladimir! Here some info you may update about Malaysia. 1USD = 4.26MYR(as of July 14) means USD currency is 4 times higher than MYR. FYI with 1USD you already could have a set of breakfast. Good news! If your budget 5USD which equal to around 21MYR is enough to cover for breakfast+lunch+dinner per day!๐Ÿ˜ƒ
